Cotton satin

Cotton satin is a fabric with an elegant shine, unique softness and durability, which makes it a preferred choice for bed linen. Cotton satin has nothing to do with the satin used in confection, which is made mostly of polyester fabrics.

Cotton satin begins its life with cotton fibers that are mercelized to soften the fabric. This process creates the characteristic shine and softness. The cotton fibers are immersed in a special solution - sodium hydroxide, then rinsed in a bath with neutralizing substances. Shine occurs because during this process, the fabric stretches. Cotton satin fabric resembles satin, as it has the same weaving structure - four threads on one (4/1). In this way, more fibers are on the surface, which better reflects light, giving shine and a luxurious look to the fabric.
